The inside cover is a color photograph of a palace room interior featuring a large ornate desk, red patterned wallpaper and large gild frames. A drawer mounted on the back inside cover is covered with black and white illustration depicting how the moon casts a shadow on the earth during a lunar eclipse. The drawer is revealed by pulling on a red drawstring. This drawer contains six pieces of colored glass which cover six different illustrations arranged in a mosaic grid. The illustrations are: playing cards spread out on a table; a slug crawling past buildings of an Old West downtown; an etching of bare feet; a man crawling on the floor; a bearded hunter with his rifle; and a color illustration of a large ocean cruiser.
