The inside front cover is backed with a wallpaper pattern of watercolor flowers on a red background. Attached to the inside cover is a half cylinder covered with the etched illustration of a human torso and head delineating the sympathetic nervous system. Tucked inside this cylinder is a vial containing a color photo of a galaxy with the label “Sympathetic System” pasted on the outside. The frame is covered with puppet-like human figures engaged in swimming activities. Inside the framed area in the background is an illustration of a man’s hip holster and gun with a closeup of a woman’s bare leg in the foreground. Inside a large vial on the right is a black-and-white photo of a woman’s face. Coming out of this vial is a bundle of wires which snakes itself down to an inlet on the lower left side. On either side are sparse pen-and-ink drawings of plants. The upper and lower sections of the frame are topped with glass. Inside the glass top is a color photo of an elegant interior. Inside the glass bottom is a black-and-white reproduction of The Battle of the Monongahela by J.B. Stearns.
