The inside cover of this book is collaged with a yellowed page of an etched illustration of a jay and a short paragraph about its characteristics. The right half of this altered book assemblage is an open box construction with eighteen compartments laid out in three rows of six. Each compartment contains a glass vial collaged with a color photo of a different wildflower. On the back of each vial is a vertical list of numbers. Inside each vial is a scroll wrapped around a sphere-topped section of a yellow, green, or red cocktail stirrer. Each scroll is a clipping of text from a grammar primer that poses a multiple-choice question.
