Altered book assemblage

The inside cover is a photo of a long-armed monkey leaping against a blue sky. On the bottom of the inside cover is a card tile with text describing structural elements of a bridge. A square cut into the center of this tile reveals a etching illustration of a railroad tunnel. The frame of the assemblage is covered with a dark, marbled paper pattern. Within the framed area are eighth evenly spaced glass shelves. The background is a black-and-white photo illustration of two men demonstrating standing calisthenic positions. There are squares cut into the torsos of these men revealing color photographs of small groups of people. The side panels feature letter tiles. On the left the letters spell out the word “suspend” and the right the letters spell the word “breadth.” At the bottom is text from a children’s book. On the outside top of the frame is the caption “The story in a suspension bridge.” The title, signature, and date are in the outside bottom of the frame.
